On Thursday, 7^th October 2021 the Seniors Section hosted a “just for fun” Ryder Cup style event “Seniors” versus “Par 3 Club”.

There were 40 participants, 20 on each team.

This was the 4th time that this event has taken place. and used the new format of Front 9 holes on the Par 3 course and front 9 holes on the Main course. We were blessed with good weather for this time of the year … dry, warm and just a slight breeze.

Handicap allowances were based on 75% of the main Course Handicaps (Yellow tees) and the result seems to suggest that this is a fair approach.

A total of 14 matches, therefore 14 Points up for grabs.

• 3 matches – Foursomes (pairs matchplay)
• 3 matches – Four Ball Betterball (pairs matchplay)
• 8 matches – Singles Matchplay

The Seniors Sponsored the cost of the after match meals (Pie, Peas & Chips).
The Par 3 Club sponsored the two Nearest The Pin prizes.

SEELEY Course 6th – Richard Hone

COMPETITION RESULT : Seniors – 7 ¹/₂ Points / Par 3 Club – 6 ¹/₂ Points

The 6 Pairs matches were won equally (3 per team). However the Seniors scored 4¹/₂ points from the Singles and the Par 3 Club 3¹/₂ points.
