On Thursday, 3rd October 2019 the Seniors Section hosted a “just for fun” Ryder Cup style event. This event ran as “Seniors” versus “Par 3 Club”.
There were 40 participants, 20 on each team.
A total of 14 matches, therefore 14 Points up for grabs.
3 matches were Foursomes format (pairs matchplay)
3 matches were 4 Ball Betterball (pairs matchplay)
8 matches were Singles Matchplay
After the 6 Pairs matchplays it was 3 points per team.
However the Seniors dominated the Singles Matchplay by winning 6 of them and halving the other 2 matches.
So a resounding win for the Seniors 10 – 4. full result

The weather was kind to us and everyone was in good spirits. However, due to the recent rain buggys were not permitted on the back 9 holes and this made it a little harder for some.
Many thanks go to the Seniors Section for hosting the event and we shall look forward to a repeat event next year all being well. It has been suggested that next year we look to changing the event to 9 front holes on the Par 3 and 9 front holes on the main course. This would make it accessible for a wider range of players.
