Code Of Conduct

The Rules Of Golf include dealing with issues regarding breach of Code Of Conduct. This covers things like deliberately ignoring the rules of play, behaving in a manner unsafe to others or causing damage to the course to name just a few. In many cases the penalty can be disqualification from the competition on the day, and in serious cases could result in a longer ban.

There were two separate incidents today that fell into the breach of Code Of Conduct category. However, I do appreciate that many members would not at first realise that this is the case so I am stating the cases now and I anticipate that word will get round to everyone.

1. Playing as a 5-ball group
The maximum number of players allowed in a group is 4. This is standard practice at all golf clubs. If you play as a 5-ball group in a Par 3 Club competition you are bringing the Par 3 Club’s reputation into disrepute. In future any competitors playing in a group of more than 4 players will be liable to disqualification from the competition.

2. Teeing off before 7.30am
The Par 3 Club has a block booking of the 1st Tee from 7.30am to 9.30am. Outside these times the course is available to all other players, including any time before 7.30am. Also, The greenkeepers are aware of the times we play and they kindly plan their maintenance in a way so as to avoid interfering with the consistency of our competitions i.e. moving tees or mowing greens.

If you tee off before 7.30am (without express permission from the Pro Shop) you are bringing the Par 3 Club’s reputation into disrepute. In future any competitors teeing off before 7.30am (unauthorised) will be liable to disqualification from the competition.

Please spread the word, and I am happy to chat with any members about the above if it is not clear enough.
