Finance Report

Competition Review
Our standard weekly format continues this year and the vast majority of players enter their scores online, which is a great help with the admin process. As always, Richard reminded members about their responsibility in maintaining the pace of play, keeping up with the group in front, repairing pitch marks and raking bunkers.
The top three money winners this year were Richard Juby, Beresford Bell and the most successful Richard Moskwa.
This year’s analysis of the winnings shows a reasonably fair distribution over the range of handicaps, although a very slight dip in the share of winnings for the lower handicaps has been noted (compared to previous years) and will be monitored.
Monthly special events
Terry Crofts is taking over the management of the monthly events this year. The number of participants has been reducing since Covid and costs have been rising, so this year’s away events will be reduced.
Continuation of pre-bookings
Richard explained his reasons for continuing the pre-booking system for the foreseeable future. There is a small number of players who strongly object, so the situation will continue to be carefully monitored especially with regard to “no shows”.
Charity 2023
For this year the club will be supporting two charities that have been chosen by the Main Club Captain (Sachin Kanaiya) – Maggie’s Cancer Care and Emanuel House.
Proposals
No proposals were submitted this year.
Committee for 2023
After ten years on the committee, Ron Coles is stepping down. He has worked incredibly hard organising all the monthly events, which have been much appreciated by the committee and our members.
Terry Crofts will be taking over the monthly events schedule this season.
AGM 9 hole challenge – Graham Bowles was the winner.
